Remember to keep your shampoo bar dry in between uses just like my other handmade soaps by using a soap dish with drain holes. It will last you even longer.

I love this shampoo bar and can't wait to try the other ones that I have made. I do use a vinegar rinse once about every 7 to 14 days with my shampoo bar.

To make a vinegar rinse add 1-2 tablespoons of vinegar (I use cider) to 16 ounces of warm water. Shampoo hair as normal, rinse with water then rinse with a vinegar rinse.

Shikakai is a natural herbal powder derived from the fruit of the Acacia Concinna tree. It has been used for centuries as a hair cleanser. Because of its amazing benefits for the hair, the name Shikakai literally means fruit for the hair. It is extremely mild and has a naturally low pH. It is an excellent natural hair cleanser and astringent and also acts as a natural detangler. Used as a hair wash in lieu of soaps & shampoos, it promotes lustrous hair growth, removes dandruff and strengthens hair roots

Amla is a natural herbal powder derived from the fruit of the Emblica Officinalis tree. This fruit has the highest content of naturally occurring vitamin C and is used in a number of Ayurvedic medicines. It is a natural anti-oxidant and in powder form is great for topical application to the hair and skin. It is an excellent natural hair conditioner. Stops falling of hair and premature graying and strengthen hair roots. Removes Dandruff and promotes long lustrous and healthy hair. Amla's benefits for hair cause it to be used in many herbal shampoos, oils, and hair loss creams.

Reetha the Soap nut tree, grows abundantly in India. Its fruit has been used for cleaning hair, body, and clothes since ancient times. Soap nuts are 100% natural and contain no chemical additives, making them a great choice for anyone with sensitive skin. They work like soap because their shell contains a substance called "saponin" which is released when it comes in contact with warm water. The inner seed is hard and black and contains no saponin.

Brahmi powder is a remedy for people with chronic hair problems. Brahmi can make hair dark, dense, and lustrous. It strengthens hair roots, thus controlling hair thinning and hair loss. Regular use control premature graying and massaging it into the scalp clears dandruff.

Bhringraj is an ancient ayurvedic herb widely known for its effectiveness against hair ailments. In Ayurveda, the herb is used for treating hair loss, improving hair texture, and to stop premature balding and graying and various skin allergies. Alopecia sufferers will also find bhringraj to be beneficial in promoting hair regrowth. Even without suffering any ailments, bhringraj aids in luxurious hair growth.

Hibiscus (Jaswand) is known as one of the best secrets to beautiful and healthy hair. Hibiscus promotes hair growth, stops hair fall, gives hair a healthy luster with bounce, and delays premature graying. Hibiscus has been a wonderful ingredient in hair treatments that combine other ayurvedic herbs such as alma and brahmi.

Neem Leaf Powder removes lice and dandruff when applied to the hair. It has the triple advantage of being a natural antiseptic, germicide as well as an excellent deodorant. It is therefore very effective on skin allergies, prickly heat, sweat - rashes, itches. It is antiseptic, germicidal, effective for skin allergies, bed sores, lice, dandruff, and itching.

New to Natural Shampoo Bars? Here are a few things to know:

*There is a big difference between natural and commercial shampoos: natural bars don't contain the preservatives or the sulfates that cleanse by stripping everything – not just the daily dirt buildup but also the good natural oils on your hair. This means that natural shampoos leave hair generally more moisturized and with much more texture (as opposed to the sleek and squeaky feel).

*You may also find that your hair will need to adapt to the shampoo bars over time (don’t give up if after 2 or 3 days your hair is acting ‘differently’!). Many people's hair tends to take a while to get accustomed to a natural shampoo when switching away from commercial shampoos - it is part of a 'detoxifying' process as the synthetics that have built up on your hair are slowly removed. To help your hair through this detox process, you may find that doing a daily or every-other-day vinegar rinse will help to remove excess buildup.

*Once your hair has adjusted to your new shampoo bar, you may want to continue with weekly vinegar rinses to keep your hair’s pH balanced, help prevent tangles, and remove soap and product buildup.

*Shampoo bars can be a little challenging if you live in an area that has hard water. Hard water means that you will need to use more soap to get a good lather and that soap is more difficult to rinse away. The minerals in hard water can react with soap, causing excess residue and tangling of the hair. If you have hard water, you may want to try using a vinegar rinse more frequently or using a water softener in your home.

My hair loss problem was largely improved after using the soap. It took me 2 weeks for my hair to adapt to the natural soap but worth it. Love the soap.

Thank you for making a great shampoo bar

As others have said, it lathers very nicely, and is a BAR not in a plastic container, and had contained all the components I was looking for to treat my hair with (shikkakai etc.). I never buy shampoo bars because I am skeptical- but the ingredients are excellent for hair.
My hair is fine and I've felt it wasnt washed out thoroughly after use, but I might have to massage it in better and try to wash it out more as one of the other reviewers suggested.
    Thanks for making this product.
